Fantasy Focus on Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle has a few flashes of light Matt Hasselbeck is the Starter but for fantasy I say a 3 rnd or later he gets better value later. Matt is getting older, slower and basically lives in the ER. With Walter Jones gone here come Russell Okung being Infused in the O-Line to protect Hasslbeck Blind side with newcomer Ben Hamilton. But Pete Carol has a back-up plan that has us scratching our heads. JP Losman and he traded for Charlie Whitehurst. He obviously saw something in Charlie. From the Seattle Addicts I hear that Charlie Whitehurst is faster and has better footwork than Hasselbeck, but his accuracy is not very good. Then I hear J.P. Losman throws a much better ball than Whitehurst. Hmmm Not ready to invest a Fantasy Pick on either of them. But I will keep an eye on them in Preseason to see how they do against realtime adversity.

Now they have the same challenge a RB. A bunch of B- listers. I really Like Justin Forsett, If you exchange the "F" for a "D" then you really have a good talent! I am not saying he looks like HOF Tony but he definitely has Speed, vision, and great change of direction. Dorsett may have been a little taller but was about the same build and the history books shows what he did with that. I really think P.C. should give him a chance at starting on 1st and 2nd down maybe the old RB by committee. I would not draft him unless he was available in the lower rounds or we knew he was the starter.

Julius Jones Is a feature back type but just has no Pizzaz! You never expect more than --5 yards with Jones. But you can only hope for a bust away long run. If he starts I would not pick him until you have 2 or 3 other RB on you squad, remember he is very serviceable. He will be a good replacement in bye weeks or Great match-ups if he is the "Feature Back"
Little Leon Washington is back in Green, this time as a Seahawk! Honestly I never liked him in Fantasy Football because he just never got the ball enough. He speed and running style is deceptive. He look like he could really be a great Fantasy RB but I just feel there are SEVERAL OTHER RB's I would pick before I get to Leon. He has decent hands and can be dangerous in space but I just can't give my stamp of approval. I doubt he starts with Jones and Forsett on the squad.

The one thing the troubles me with Seattle WR & TE is the health of QB Matt Hasselbeck. When is on the field They will do well. but he is hurt for more games than not, and they are not sure what they have in the 2nd string QBs yet. So think about that before you select on of these guys.

TJ whosYaMama…Ok TJ Houshmandzadeh made a bad decision to go to Seattle last year. He really isn't a #1 Receiver, and The Seahawks needed a #1. Don't get me wrong he is an amazing talent, in fact I have won leagues with TJ on my team. I met him at Superbowl XLI Cool dude but just not the guy you MUST Double team. I would certainly get him in the 5th
- 6th Rd after I had a Great #1 WR. I would look to see who else was available first though.

Golden Tate I like what this youngster brings to the table, but can he be a #1? He lacks size and speed. Tate is dangerous in space, the guy is like Chris Carter. All he does is catch….well we will see if they are all TD's!

John Carlson (TE) has great hands and they will use him in spots where he will give great value. I would put him in the top 7 -10 TE Possibly higher depending on the QB play and yes I meant to put him ahead of the other WR's, he is that good

Deon Branch is another #2 WR possible a #3 or # 4 depending on what happens with Mike Williams.

Speaking of Mike Williams, from the camp notes they say he show great hands and can go up and get the ball, but has bad footwork after making the catch. So that will be something to keep looking at during Pre-season.

I cant Evaluate the Team Defense Yet I will comeback to that later
